For more than 85 years, South Nassau Communities Hospital has set the gold standard for emergency care on Long Island. To continue delivering the quality of care you’ve come to expect, we need to expand our Emergency Department — and we need your help to do it.
The current Emergency Department was designed to handle 35,000 visits. In 2013, it saw 65,000 visits — almost twice the original number. That figure is expected to grow to 80,000 annual visits, and the Emergency Department must grow with it to meet this increased demand.
The total cost of the expansion is $60 million, and our goal is to raise $10 million through donations.

Making a Difference
Nobody expects to need emergency care, but South Nassau Communities Hospital is there when life happens. Your donation ensures that you, your loved ones and your community have access to a state-of-the-art Emergency Department for life’s emergencies.
In the video, you’ll hear from Gary, a former patient. A heart attack survivor, Gary has a new lease on life, thanks to the medical staff at South Nassau’s Emergency Department. He’s just one example of the thousands of success stories that leave our Emergency Department’s doors.
This is your chance to “Be a Lifesaver” and make an impact on the lives of those who depend on emergency care in their community. Your gift to the expansion project is tax-deductible, and there are many ways to get involved. Show your support by filling out our donation form or attending a support event.
