Support Mount Sinai South Nassau's Comprehensive Stroke Program
Please help us reach our goal to support the expansion of Mount Sinai South Nassau’s Comprehensive Stroke Program to bring life-saving clot retrieval services to the South Shore of Nassau County. With stroke patients, minutes matter. Your donation will help insure that highly trained neurologists will be on hand around the clock when you, your neighbors or loved ones need help, close at hand.
Mount Sinai South Nassau is investing in a $10 million upgrade of its Stroke Program to include the installation of a Biplane 3D interventional radiology imaging suite for the treatment of complex and life-threatening vascular diseases such as stroke and aneurysm. Our specialists will be able to perform mechanical thrombectomy, a minimally invasive procedure to remove potentially life-threatening and life-altering blood clots from an artery in the brain, giving stroke patients a better chance of survival and recovery.
Please consider a donation of any amount to help us reach our goal.

Comprehensive Stroke Program Technology
The expansion of Mount Sinai South Nassau’s Comprehensive Stroke Program includes the installation of a Biplane 3D interventional radiology imaging suite for the treatment of complex and life-threatening vascular diseases such as stroke and aneurysm. The Bi-Plane is an essential component of the $10 million investment the hospital is making to upgrade its stroke program to a designated “Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center,” with 24/7 on-site neurointensive and critical care coverage and the expertise to perform mechanical thrombectomy, a minimally invasive procedure to remove potentially life-threatening and life-altering blood clots from an artery.
Biplane produces highly detailed 3-D images of blood vessels, soft tissue, and blood flow in real-time to streamline the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, vascular disease, biliary disease and other life-threatening conditions.
